-Official- Is this car worth it thread - vol. 2
Hello! new to the forums, looking to pick up my first s2k hopefully by the end of the month
Keeping a close eye on one specific s2k and was wondering if this was a decent/good/bad deal.
-2005 w/ 81,xxx miles
-some aftermarket goodies such as coils, performance clutch, upgraded flywheel etc.
-haven't checked out the car yet but owner can vouch. When I drive out to check it out, my friend (who is a honda tech and a s2k owner as well) will be checking the car out with me.
So any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Assuming the car is between good to excellent shape, has a clean Carfax, has documented service records, has no history of accidents, it seems to be a good price. It seems the auto has been modified. I like to stick with one hundred percent s2000s,as I believe they are most marketable if you need a quick turnaround in the market.
So i have a 2000 s2k with 106682 miles on the engine. I love the car, and put alot into it.(new sparks, new belt, new brakes, fresh oil, tein coils, cold air intake, subwoofer and wiring, has good tires, and a new ap2 top). So im in the car about 11,000 dollars. Anyways i found this other s2000 that is totally stock for 16,202 dollars at a nissan dealer. http://nissan.jackkey.com/used/empty..._base?curimg=0
I have about 3000 to put down on that other s2000, if they give me a decent trade in on my car. The only problem is that my car isnt stock, and i have some modifications that i really enjoy on my s2000. I was planning to get my car touched up on some areas of the paint, and get a greddy ti-c single outlet exhaust in the near future and pocket that 3000 for the future. So im in kinda a twist. Should i empty out my account on a newer mint s2k that's stock and black. Or should i keep my white and red s2k with more miles but mods.. Humm... :?

Keep the one you have. Pay it off if it isn't. I never enjoyed having a note to pay. Plus, the s2 you're interested in is overpriced you could find a better deal in the private market. Dealers mark up prices on verts this time a year. If you really want to jump into a different s2 then just wait until you find the perfect one don't buy from a dealer in the summer time or even spring with the markups. Winter is usually the best time to buy from dealers.
I purchased mine 2 years back 05 39k for 16k private purchase.(many others on here have found better deals) Have patience when purchasing a vehicle.
Why do you want to trade in your S to begin with? Issues, just want a stock platform to begin with? Was your S modded when you purchased it?

yeah i bought my s2000 cash about 4 months ago. I dont owe a cent on it, and insurance is paid off to! so im just cruising it till next year, till i have to pay my insurance again. And yeah i know its over priced, i could find one like that in the private market for around 14000. But dont dealers take better care of their cars? like arnt they inspected and everything before they get onto the sales floor?

that's my current s2000.
And no, my s2000 doesnt have any issues, except for that clutch buzz, and the "learning ecu" in the winter, and a heat sheild rattle on start up that lasts about 4 seconds till something heats up. I was just thinking about getting something that is newer, and different! it already had the coils in there, but they look like they were barely put in. And i just changed the filter to my type of brand. All the other mechanical issues were done by me when i bought the car. Such as the belt, subwoofer, o2 sensor, and i also did cleaned the map, and tightened my rear axles, and... changed a hose.
