I'd go with whichever had better compression numbers I'm leaning toward the AP1 off the info though, but I'd always get a compression test done when buying a used car.

they both sound like they could be good. but only 32k on an '03 is outstanding and it's great model year.

Thanks guys I was leaning more towards the ap1 and yes I am gonna compression check which ever I buy. The compression should be 240 psi after 5 cranks right?

Make sure the throttle is fully open when performing the compression check. The compression numbers will vary depending on if the engine is cold or hot at the time that the check is performed, but what is most important is that the compression numbers are close across all cylinders (for example if you had 230psi in 3 cylinders and only 150 in one cylinder... there is a problem). I would say that a large part of this decision comes down your own preference on AP1 vs AP2, test drive each car and buy the one that you like more (assuming they are both mechanically sound).

Hey guys,

I'm in talks with an older lady whos trying to sell a 02 Suzuka blue, exactly what I'm looking for really. 2nd owner, says she bought it from the widow of the original owner with 12,000mi on it. It now has ~25,000mi on it, and appears to be in great shape (from the pics), top has no tears and looks great, pretty minor wear on the drivers bolsters, paint looks like new. Says its got pretty new tires, just serviced, oil and air filter (though I would of course be going through the whole car if i bought it). One issue is that the car is not local to me so I would be needing to fly out to check out the car and drive it back home, so I cant really inspect it in person so easily. Right now shes at $16,000. Do the deal?

Any opinions and feedback are greatly appreciated, as I'm thinking of making a decision shortly.

Thanks

If the car is clean and in excellent shape, it's a fair price; however one can find better deals with patience.

Thanks for the feedback. This seems to be about the best deal I've seen, been looking only about ~2 months, but my current car is on its way out so its sort of pressuring me into making a move. We came to an agreement of $15,900 and I'm happy about it ...provided I don't get there and find something horribly wrong with it. Everything else I've seen was $17,500-$18,500 in that sub 30k mile range, and they weren't willing to work with me on the price at all. So I guess I'll finally be an s2k owner sometime next week!

I'm not a suspicious person, but when a car dealer lists an S2K that seems decently priced [most of the dealer listed prices here in ny are crazy], my antenna goes up. What do you guys think of a 2006 with 72,000 miles, one owner, for $17985? The car fax says its one owner, but 50,000 of the miles were put on in the last two years. Otherwise, no salvage no accidents. I'm going to go drive it in a week or two if its still there, but this is a little less than Edmunds price, and well below Kellys. I smell a rat, although i don't want to. Or am I over-estimating how reasonable this is? Opinions?
