-Official- Is this car worth it thread - vol. 2
First post, please be gentle.
2006 NFR
Black interior
3 previous owners (suspicious?)
58k on the ol' clock
Everything looks stock save shift knob
Interior is in good shape
No obvious imperfections in the body
Comes with hardtop! (Looks like Mugen I believe)
Missing exhaust tip and valve cover paint is chipping
Dealer is asking 18,000
Biggest downside is the four and a half hour drive to take a look at bleeding thing!

Hello. First and foremost, thanks for a great site. I've spent a lot of time on here looking around and gaining good information before finally registering and considering my first S2000. As someone who loves speed in old muscle cars, this would be my first import ride.
I found this car: 380 HP Honda S2000 for Sale and was wondering if people thought this was a good deal.
I've seen the car and it is absolutely flawless. I've seen all the receipts for the engine work, wheels, etc. I've seen they Dyno that verifies the horsepower. I've seen the CARFAX. The car is an amazing driver too.
I'm just wondering if I should start out with a "stock" S2000 and work my way up to this one. Or is this just too good of a deal to pass up?
Thanks for any feedback. I appreciate it!

Hey, looks like a solid buy, the rims are meh, and id remover the rear s2000/turbo symbol but the s2000/turbo on the sides looks pretty slick, also i get the market is different between canada and the states, but that seem like a deal, 07 with 40k miles, you'd be spending 25/30k on that up here, not to mention it has a 5/10 g in the engine done depending on the system. If you like the car, buy it. That red is sexy!
I vote yes!

That is the worst turbo'd s2000 that I have seen in life. Why would anyone relocate the battery to the middle of the engine bay, might as well put a dead pig in there as well. It already stinks
I'm just amazed at how negative, close-minded and dismissive most everyone is. Just because you don't particularly like the setup or the style that someone has put into their S2000, doesn't make it a bad vehicle. I doubt that a company like Jotech would just randomly put a battery somewhere without putting some thought into it.
By all means, post some pictures of your car and its engine bay so we can take cheap shots at it too.

You don't have to like my feedback. My engine bay only has a k&n filter. I don't think anyone can take any cheap shots... Sorry...
If you like the car, you should buy it and dismiss everyone's negative comment. I see no value in putting the battery there, do you? Perhaps it gives the car a 50:50 weight distribution, considering that
Jotech puts so much thought into it.
Modifications like that don't really increase the value of a car, that's why its posted with that price... I personally would not buy it. You can get a stock, great conditioned s2000 with that much money from a private seller. Dealerships tend to be shady at times as well, plus you can't talk to the owner about maintenance.

soon2bes2000owner,
The car looks ok if you like the mods. You could always sell the turbo and wheels and put it back to stock. A turbo setup is kind of a wild card. Stock would be a safer purchase in terms of history, reliability, how hard it's been used/abused.
Personally I like normally aspirated. The S wasn't designed for over 300hp so there will always be reliability issues and added complexity with aftermarket forced induction.
Your best bet is to have it inspected. Check the compression, leak down, drivetrain. Go drive a stock S2000 for comparison purposes.
There appears to be a dent in the front of the hood.
