^^^$5 says it's a theft recovery
thanks guys but in FL theft recovery means it gets a salvage title by law. At least i finally got to test drive one and boy did i like it! But i think my CL9 is as fast as an ap1 on the highway
S2000 wasn't build for straight line performance...it's all about cornering ability.

I'd personally stay away from that one, it's got too many things wrong with it. You can find an AP1 that's in good electrical/mechanical shape with less mileage for that kinda money.
Thanks, now say they take 10k otd (not like they would, but who knows) would that be a deal or should I stay away from this car all together due to the items I've pointed out?

I don't think 10k is a great deal, but it's not horrible. I don't know how much it'd take to fix the HIDs and the SRS, but I can't imagine it'd be super cheap to do either. You'll still want to find some way to get the car checked by a mechanic you choose, maybe one that's closer?

SRS dash light on, OEM shift knob replaced with a cheap walmart one. Interior maybe 8 out of 10 seats are ok for its age. Fluids look good i think. Accoring to auto check the car had 3 or 4 pervious overs but it is clean and a FL car.Dealer explains: car was bought at auction, they replaced front bumper, says water in trunk is due to rear taillight leak?, won't allow me to take car to my mechanic (as it is over 50 miles away)instead will conduct compression and leakdown test at their shop free of charge that i can attend. Summary:I currently have a hondata 06 TSX with 73k as my weekend warrior 6 speed white on black (rare) so i have no previous exp with AP1 but very familiar with this engine. Overall the AP1 runs great shifts nice, clutch catches really high stalled it twice lol, remember i'm use to DBW with my CL9 (TSX). The dealer says the car been sitting on the lot for a month now, a lot of calls but i'm the 3rd test drive, very honest sales lady. I guess not a lot of people are in the market for a convertible in FL when its 90 degrees and 100% humidity our covnertible weather is winter and spring. thanks in advance guys, I feel the car was probably in a front end accident since the SRS light is on and replacement bumper and vin missing from hood, the water in the trunk however is very concering is that normal? Overall, i like the s2000 but am still on the fence. I'd have to get rid of my CL9, but that was also hard to find as well white on black 6 speed. Plus 12,500 for this AP1 is a bit high, maybe at 10.900 OTD might be more reasonable, then again what do i know that's why i reach out here in this forum.

So, by this time I think all fluids could be changed, filters, plugs (10 years), check brakes, drive car and see if it drives the way you remember S2000's driving c ause you have driven more than one, right? DRive belt to change or has been changed... is a natural as well to check.
Check bodywork adn paint in obvious places, note that a properly repaired car can be just as good as a clean carfax, is just as good as one with a carfax ding several years old.

If the fluids and filters have not been changed that's the first thing you should do.

Tire wear is a give a way to check as well, too much here or there indicates a problem or possible abuse.
Drive belt ...was is that ...the S has a drive chain , but belt ..I think not
