Yeah looks nice and clean. Go take it for a spin and see how you like it/how it drives. And try and haggle down the price a bit! When I bought my 04 the seller was asking $12,997 but I was able to point out little things here and there that needed to be done and I managed to talk him down to $10,000!

The only thing that kind of worries me is the fact that you can tell there has been paint work done. It's missing the front Honda emblem and side S2000 emblems. Whether that means he just shaved the emblems or got into some kind of accident who knows?

Looking for some opinions. One of those if its too good to be true it probably is, but haven't found anything! Title is clear, Smog is done, Registered, Car Fax is good, No signs of any body damage, Paint is pristine (repainted), wheels and tires are excellent, engine bay is clean, top is brand new (no rips or tears), everything works, all fluids are good, and all receipts! Very well taken care of. The reason why he is getting rid of it is because "Traded for my 03 SVT Cobra, and it just doesn't fit me. I'm an American Car Guy." I can't find anything wrong with this vehicle. Maybe I'm over looking something. Thanks guys!

Like the title says, It's a toss up between the White Unicorn 2006 White on Black with 15k miles for ~24k or the 09' Black on Black crime with 8800 miles for 27K.

The 09 I'd have to ship, from out of state to Cali
The 06 is within driving distance.

Background on me:
I leased an 06 for 36 mos. Only car I regret letting go, I want another S2000 that I plan to occasionally Autocross and take out for fun on weekends.

Which one do you think is more rare (i.e. hold it's value more)

I trust you guys and will go with the consensus.

'09. Only 355 '09s were made. Also the '08-'09 OE suspension is significantly better.

Very tough decision but I chose the 09' because 09 is hard to find.

Personally I'd go with the 06 because it's white. You also have the bonus of saving some upfront money, but the 09 has parts that are three years newer meaning on average they will last longer before requiring replacement. Either way you can't go wrong. Since you're within driving distance of the 06 that's another reason to consider it instead. Are you going to have to eat shipping costs for the 09? If so, that's likely another $750-1000.

Yes I'll be eating the shipping costs Which really bugs me because both these dudes I'm trying to buy a car from are pains in the ass. I've been super nice but they both act like they're doing me a favor. Cool thing is having people like you on this board that give good advice all the time.

Should I just chill and be patient or are these two deals a rare opportunity and should be treated as such?

When you start getting into the $22k+ range with S2000s you are entering what I would consider a niche market. Only the newest and/or lowest-mileage cars are above that price point. These cars are the ones that are still depreciating a little while the ones in the mid-teens (say an 03-06 with average miles) are staying fairly stagnant on price. I don't think it would be difficult for you to find another car just like both of these for a similar price, so if the buyers are not working with you it's not like you'll never come across another one again.
