-Official- Is this car worth it thread - vol. 2
Original clutch on my 03 w/90k miles....but then again I got it with less than 3k on it,so it's practially a one owner. No issues.
Going back to your question.....change EVERY fluid & filter front to rear.New pads are probably in order and check the rotors and lines for wear.Listen to the engine and see if a TCT needs changing and do a valve adjustment.
New rubber for sure.

1. People like you make us with less mileage so glad we bought an S!!!
2. I only have 44k on my 04, and with the moderate driving that I do, I'll set a record some day, but it'll take me 10+ yrs. to get that far, and mine is a DD, and if I retire in 6 yrs., I'll never get that mileage.

Anytime you're looking at a vehicle at a dealership, it's always a good point to ask to see the physical copy of the used car inspection.
You'd be surprised how many times a used car manager at a dealership will decline services being performed on a used car that goes through service for the inspection. Things like fluids, clutch that was recommended because the technician noticed it slipping, maybe a vibration was noted down and believed to be coming from the differential, etc..
They can tell you they replaced the tires, brakes, wiper blades, etc, but always ask to see the physical copy of the inspection sheet.
Also, a CarFax is obviously a must, but also ask if they can provide an AutoCheck. Our dealership uses both and it saves our butts about once a month on a vehicle that had frame damage or was salvaged, etc but only showed on the AutoCheck when the CarFax came through clean! Scary!

It's been said before, but I want to reinforce...
Check the soft top. You see the two metal bars going from left to right when looking up from inside? There should be two elastic straps between these bars. Make sure those are tight. If not, the top hasn't been folding properly and has started to wear on the vinyl, which will cause tears.
Look on the inside of the soft top with a flashlight for any signs of a tear that's starting up.
If you see any of these symptoms, be prepared to pay over $1K for a new soft top in a couple years, unless you don't mind hearing the annoying sound of whistling wind and having water seep in.
Don't ask me how I know these things...

I've been looking to buy an AP2 for a while now, but haven't quite found the one that speaks to me.. I have my mind set on getting an 06 and up s2k. With that said I came upon a guy that's selling a BB 07 S2k clean title for 13.5K, but the bad part is that it has 147,000 miles on it! Now I know that's a pretty good deal for an 07 but what do you guys think about the mileage? Should I test it out and see how it feels or should I steer clear??? Any input will be appreciated. Thank you..
Hi Guys,
I just spent 2hours in the hot FL sun this morning looking at this car what do you guys think,
http://www.topchoiceautomobilesales....00-in-Tampa-FL
My observations:
New top, vin sticker missing from hood, diff vin number on front bumper cover, moisture in driver headlight and HID headlight not working (not sute if bad bulb or ballast), puddle of water in truck under trim. SRS dash light on, OEM shift knob replaced with a cheap walmart one. Interior maybe 8 out of 10 seats are ok for its age. Fluids look good i think. Accoring to auto check the car had 3 or 4 pervious overs but it is clean and a FL car.
Dealer explains: car was bought at auction, they replaced front bumper, says water in trunk is due to rear taillight leak?, won't allow me to take car to my mechanic (as it is over 50 miles away)instead will conduct compression and leakdown test at their shop free of charge that i can attend.
Summary:
I currently have a hondata 06 TSX with 73k as my weekend warrior 6 speed white on black (rare) so i have no previous exp with AP1 but very familiar with this engine. Overall the AP1 runs great shifts nice, clutch catches really high stalled it twice lol, remember i'm use to DBW with my CL9 (TSX). The dealer says the car been sitting on the lot for a month now, a lot of calls but i'm the 3rd test drive, very honest sales lady. I guess not a lot of people are in the market for a convertible in FL when its 90 degrees and 100% humidity our covnertible weather is winter and spring.
thanks in advance guys, I feel the car was probably in a front end accident since the SRS light is on and replacement bumper and vin missing from hood, the water in the trunk however is very concering is that normal? Overall, i like the s2000 but am still on the fence. I'd have to get rid of my CL9, but that was also hard to find as well white on black 6 speed. Plus 12,500 for this AP1 is a bit high, maybe at 10.900 OTD might be more reasonable, then again what do i know that's why i reach out here in this forum.
