Default 245 square fit on AP1

[QUOTE: ]It won't fit in the front. You will need a roll. Rears you may be ok depending on camber.[/QUOTE]

I just installed OZ Alleggerita 17 x 8.5, 59 offset with 245/40/17 tires. I'm all stock and these fit with no rub and I didn't roll the fenders.

I was afraid I had made a mistake after reading these many pages, many with comments that 245 square would rub. Mine do not. Not even close.

You are quoting a reply that was in reference to completely different wheel specs which is a little misleading. You picked the perfect size for a 245 front without rubbing though, so nicely done.

Hi guys I am looking for some advice from people who know more than me on this topic. Currently I have a set of jlines 2 piece wheels that are 18x8 and 18x9 for rears. The offset is somewhere in the +55 range. I am wanting to put the rear 18x9s up front with a 25mm fender and and wanted to rebuild the 18x8s to a 18x10 or 18x11 with stock rear fender. My goal is trying to put a 285/30 tire on the rear that would fit with my ohlins and have a slightly more aggressive looking wheel. The wheel builder recommend I do 18x11 with a +56 offset. Would this be too aggressive or should we be around the +60 offset. Thank you again for the help

I am running 11" +64 with a 285/30 tire:

You could go a little more aggressive depending on ride height and how much negative camber you are willing to run. I think +60 would be good, personally I wouldn't go any lower but it can be done.

Are you planning on lowering the offset on the 9" wheels? A 9" +55 would fit really nicely in the front with rolled stock fenders.

thanks! Ya I think + 60 range is where I want to be. My car is not a daily not do I track it but would like to give it a more aggressive look. The car is undergoing a full repaint and currently I have the wider fenders waiting to go on because the oem ones are all hailed out. I was not thinking of reading the the fronts but maybe adding a 15-20mm spacer to flush it? The 18x8 are pretty flush with the fender as is. Any other thoughts?

Also for the fronts would a 255/35 (current tire) tire work with the 285's? I have access to 265s as well.

I thought you might be already committed to the wider fronts, just wanted you to be aware. A 15-20mm spacer would be fine to take up the extra clearance.

255/35 front can work with 285/30 rear but is slightly larger diameter. It's similar to people running 225/45, 245/40 on stock AP2 wheels. The difference is minor, most people won't notice but just depends on how OCD you are if something like that bothers you. 245/35 is a perfect diameter match for a 285/30 and 255/35 is the same diameter as a 295/30.

Thanks! Ya I can have ocd at times but I can always see how the 255's work if I don't like it than 245's it is. Out of curiosity how much heavier does your car feel with the wider wheels and tires? Do notice much power loss? Granted I am boosted with 370lb of tq and I just want to be able to keep the traction.

Default please help

I am looking at some old school SSR wheels in 17X 8F 9R+42. I have 30mm wider front fenders what size tire should I get? Or are those rim size a bad idea? I am retarded when it comes to wheel sizes but I really like these wheels please help.

370trq? You wont notice shit lol I'm running 295's NA and have no issues, soon to be 315's. Granted wheel/tire choice have different weights(I'm on lighter 17's) so that's going to bear some, but not with 370trq. The 11 +64 looks perfect for that 285 in my opinion. I'm running 11.5" +63 and its a bit more aggressive then id prefer but is necessary to get the width tire I run to fit. I think 11 +60 would be too aggressive if you want the ability to fit a 295/30 on the back which not only seems to have more tire options in a better performance bracket, but is just better with your power level, and why not if your going to the trouble to go custom already. It would also be the ideal pair for a 255 up front. Id go with a 11" +65 if I were you.
