Have fun with the Hondata IMG, I did that yesterday and what a b. I was changing the coolant and thermostat (mugen) at the same time...but damn...getting that intake mani of is a pain.
Thanks for the warning A guy in s2katlanta will be helping me install both the gasket and dif, as he's done them a few times before. I'll be learning a lot, needless to say.

A lightweight flywheel should free up between 1-3 hp probably.

a flywheel will help big time. It's by far the best mod to go when going NA in my opinion. t'll free up some hp, but it's going to really help with free up lost torque.

everyone is progressing well it seems. I miss having all my mods, the car is still fast but I can feel the loss in power without my mods. I hope to be back in the game sometime soon though.

I did manage to beat up a modded turbo miata though, and even embarressed a guy in a new M5 who couldn't keep up with me through mild traffic. The S is still kicking ass.

Anyone that says you can't have 4.77 and go on the hwy don't have the gears, and are FOS. I've had 4.77s for 2yrs, driven the car cross country and go on the hwy a lot. I don't have ANY problems. You can barely tell the difference between stock and the 4.57 but there's a big difference when you go 4.77...yes, I've driven a car with 4.57 and was disappointed. The 4.57 are good for people who want both gears and FI. You REALLY need to do some research or else you will be spending a lot of money changing mods b/c you won't be satisfied with the results. I know atleast two guys (vapors2k and Pinky) who had 4.44 (before there were 4.77) and ended up paying to have the whole thing redone (for 4.77).
what 's ur rpm at 80mph , 6th gear??

BTW Tenblade's comment was the deciding factor as to why I got 4.77 over 4.57 I just knew I wouldn't have been happy with the 4.57

Hey, why do new gears read lower #s on the dyno? Confused about that.

And I've heard a lighter flywheel will help a little down low, but will not have the momentum and might lose a little up top. No experience though.

Stupid stuff keeps delaying me. I should have some #s by next weekend, though. Pissed that I'm running late, though, since the car is in a local show tonight. DAMN.

For all of you who asked about the "new in town" exhaust system, here are some pics

Well my IMG and 4.77 dif install didn't go as smoothly as planned. My knock sensor broke and we "forgot" to order new bolts for the driveshaft/halfshafts so now my car is up on jack stands. I'm driving around the car of the guy helping me from the local club for a few days, which has 4.57 gears. I must say, that I am very glad I ordered the 4.77 because I don't even notice the higher rpm on the highway at all and it just doesn't pull like mine does in stock 4.10 form. I think a lot of that has to do with my exhaust though. He has apexi single with test pipe, PRM intake, and OBX header with the 4.57 gears. With my J's header, t1r70, and new vafc2 I'm seriously thinking that I can hit high 220s if not 230. I've ridden in several other S2000s now and mine just seems to pull hard... I think it's one of those "dyno 10 cars and there are 1 or 2 slow and 1 or 2 fast ones and the rest are in the middle" type things. I dunno, I guess the dyno will say for sure.

I can't wait, and I'll keep you guys updated on the status of my gears
