Yes I have the Frog harness. It's a VAFC2 with Frog in friggin' perfect condition. But this isn't a FS thread, so PM if you're interested.

I too wouldn't pay that for the J's intake. If you just want GO, I would most likely get the Comptech intake. I currently have the HKS Racing Suction intake which I like more and it sounds WAY better, but good luck finding one! That is, until I sell it also for the SC!

As for tuning the VAFC to make up for the Rick's power loss at the top, it's feasible but perhaps not territory I want to be the first to explore. Rick's header is best for mid-range, and you will PROBABLY get the loss at the top back to a net gain/loss of 0, but don't expect to turn the loss into a gain with simple tuning.
If you want to stay NA and get the most power, esp at the top, you NEED the J's header for the bigger pipes which are required for more airflow at the top end.

Another mod that would probably help is the Ztec/Spugen heat shield. This goes in front of the block, and shields heat from the engine to your intake piping. It reduces engine bay temp by your intake piping by a LOT. Hey, surprise, I ALSO have one of those for sale!

Spoon aims for high end I believe, Mugen aims for mid-range... J's is superior all over. Spoon can be had for $750 on the forums, J's still $1200. You get what you pay for, but I wouldn't knock the Spoon header by all means.

It supposedly adds 4whp.

JDM is 11.7:1 CR, and have 6more hp supposedly. You can see the reasoning or pattern.
It's a pretty safe mod, and doesn't cause knocking or anything, but doesnt add a large amount of power. If you are on a budget and want all NA power possible, itd be an okay mod. I wonder how installation is, haha... At leas thte gasket is cheap.

Yes, 230-240whp is the same cost as 300whp (Vortech SC).

ohh yes 230-240whp is at least as much as 300 with the vortech.

I just know that after I do get up to that mark, if I still want more (don't think I will). I could always add the SC and be like sideways and put out 450hp if I want, because of the supporting mods.

^100% correct. That is why it's important to do the mods right the first time, like the Js header and a 70mm exhaust.
The only mod(s) you might want to change later when you get the SC are of course the intake, and maybe the headgasket. Other than that, your header, test pipe, ECU (mainly if it's a tunable kind like eManage or VAFC vs Mugen or Js), throttle body (), and exhaust will all remain intact with the SC and yield awesome results!!!
So that's why I wouldn't build just an NA setup. The surge for power will continue to the SC and you wont want to redo EVERYTHING!

yep...or if you wanted to stay very very safe you could do a modest 350whp since the bolt ons are already there. But anyway, this is an N/A thread so uhh I guess FI is illegal?
