Ok guys, I have been out of the game for along time now... If you guys could have a dream N/A set up what would it be? And also maybe a budget list also? Just trying to see what the general ideas are after 80pages here...Also what is every one tuning with? Is vafc no good any more, e-manage blue, or are people just going with ecu's now?

And no itb's please, thats out of the question!

Well for me i'd like:

J's intake
hytech header
my custom 70mm headerback
AEM EMS (tuned by torque freaks)
spoon HG
pro flow TB
Skunk2/Crower/toda cams

that is a wicked setup probably good for 240+at the wheels easy. its also as much as a new VTSC. but it would be a responsive tgy running motor.

if i could add to my setup, i like to add a hytech/j's/berk header and some mild cams(so i can keep the stock valvetrain) and hope to put mid 230s at the wheels all day.

^^ thanks for that!!!

For exhaust I want to keep a dual set up and the invidia seems to a be a great peformer for duals and cheap too so Im gonna with that... I am wondering whats better for an N/A dual set up? The invidia 60mm or 70mm?

I think a nice budget set up for my self would be AEMv2, Berk Header/Test pipe, Invidia exhaust. Then I can do the gasket and TB down the road. And I have no knowledge on cams and the f20c so I need to look into that...

As far as tuning that will be important and I still need to think that through...

I dont think you can pull much from a dual even if you go into the hardcore JDM bits...

.....

i dont understand. in order to get full power you need a 70 mm single and that will MAYBE put you at 230 with a good tune and many other supporting mods. how is it that a dual will get you into the 220s, when singles make 15 hp and duals make you 3 AT MOST

It depends on the supporting mods. justin was a 220 with an invidia/intake/hondata/header. you can get there is just takes more mods than just a h/(single)e/vafc and you can hit 220 with a good tune.

CU@9K remember that 220 is a big # to tackle, once you've hit 220 230 is even harder to hit. it take more mods, better tuning, more $.

interesting list and very much in the area of hp you mentioned. Mine would be somewhat similar with minor changes.

since were keeping it kinda not to crazy with mods....
List:

J's Intake
Any header with 4-1 design(may have to be custom)
70mm exhaust
hondata IMG
toda flywheel/with clutch combo
ported/matched intake mani with big bore throttle body
aem ems with uego
spoon head gasket
port/polish head
koyo radiator
mugen cooling mods
axal short shifter
4.57 gears with comptech reinforcements
coilovers(even this helps in acceleraion-mainly in between shifts)
17" volk ce's
spoon brakes

CU, you're getting too concerned with what gives what power. It's going to show up differently depending on which day you dyno, what type of dyno, and have to account for variations in temp, humidity, and even your car (it's hand built!). I would try to focus more on just buying the parts you want, tuning, and having fun with the car.
