Very cool dude. I think with the 3" exhaust you'll hit the 220 rwhp mark.

Version, did you bolt the 70mm on to do some header dynoing?
I hope it hit higher than that, with the T1R and No tuning i hit 216whp. when i get my 3 inch i know i will have to re-tune it. Now im itching to get greddy emanage too

The problem is i still have the cat on my car, I know no one around here is going to want to make me a 3 inch headerback because that would involve removing my cat, but they might do it if the cat is already off the car... so im thinking im going to barrow my buddys Berk TP and go to a shop and see if they will do it.

I also have some leads to some shops that will remove my cat, If i use the code words..... AKA, hey man can you fix my exhaust, i think i have a very bad exhaust leak right before the cat. LMFAO

mybe tomorrow

Around here you can pay cash and you can get pretty much anything done to your exhaust system. Of course you don't get a receipt. Just walk in to one of them, and tell them up front, like hey, I want you to build me a 3 inch exhaust. I'm paying cash and I don't need a receipt.

i just bolted my 70mm back this afternoon, wow, i forgot exactly how much power that thing makes. compared to my HKS/stock cat street setup. it is loud, very loud!
versionjdm,

Do you reach higher speeds in given gears at redline while going through the gears with the 70mm as opposed to the hks/stock setup?
For example, I want to hit 60mph in second. My AP2 only gets to 55 or a lil higher if you bounce it. I've always been curious how much power I would have to add to do that.

blownap,

I'm confused---comparing your dyno charts with your sig numbers. Did the sig come from a previous setup or did you switch dynos? Just trying to follow everyone's experiences.

wildcardtrd,

Be sure to post pics. Good luck!

thx,
Tom

My sig numbers were with an exhaust system that i have since SOLD.

My new numbers are down compared to the old dyno, but my car is basically stock with the VAFC. When I get my new exhaust im hoping to crush my old numbers!

On a side note, gaining HP isnt going to change what speed you hit in a certain gear. if you want to hit 60 in second the only way is to change your Final drive, or Tire size.

and both of those options would make your car slower.. because you would haveto get a FD that is under 4.10 or bigger tires...

yea that might be the case, but i think cali is a little differant, i bet they have narcs here that go around trying to get shops to do this.... then slamming them

Wouldn't increasing your horsepower mean you would theoretically have an overall top speed? So wouldn't that also mean you would technically be able to reach a certain speed at a lower rpm in that certain gear now?

It depends on whether the top speed is gearing limited, limited electronically or limited by horsepower.

I'll explain how each of the three things works:

Let's say you have a 600 hp turbo AP1 S2000. At the rev-limiter (9200 rpms) you can still only go 172 mph, even though let's say you could theoretically go 180 mph. But in order to 180 mph, you'd have to rev the engine out to 9700 rpms, which would damage your engine. Therefore you are limited by your redline

BMWs and Mercedes have electronic rev limiters. They are set at 155 mph even though the car has plenty of hp and plenty of rpms left. At that speed, the computer simply shuts off fuel.

If you are limited by horsepower, then increasing your horsepower would increase your top speed. Let's go back to our AP1 S2000 again. Most stock AP1 top out in the 150-155 mph range. As you may know, in order to go faster, the amount of horsepower needed to overcome the air resistance is increasing exponentially. So if you add more horsepower, your top speed increases.
