before I got my free FIPK, I was going to buy a PRM. The only downside I saw with it was the lack of a decent heat shield. The velocity stack design intrigued me too I just never got around to testing it. Definitely build the full heat shield as I described earlier, I think this will make a big difference in dynamic power.

Oh, it would be interesting to play with the length of the PRM intake tube and see how this effects power on the dyno. It is entirely possible and within reason that my lower gains was due to possibly the character of my longer stroke engine and lower redline. Would be interesting to see what you find playing with intake tube length.
good info, about testing the tube length, I am going to be VERY limited, due to the fact that the PRM filter is so damn long, in order to fit it under the hood the tube must be pretty short.

and also remember the velocity stack needs at least its overall length in breathing room in order to function correctly

correct, simply twist it up fo testing purposes. Then we can see the effects, even if you can not impliment them practically at this time.
still patiently awaiting pics of the shield you are talking about......

[QUOTE=MINES13,Jan 31 2007, 01:12 PM] Okay, I would love to see a back to back graph on the same day on the same dyno from a thrid party.

also here is a dyno of my hacked up FIPK/PRM bastard child. Vs. the FIPK

the FIPK has it in a couple spots in V-tec, but not in peak power and power after peak, which is what im mainly focused on. As you can see the FIPK gets OWNED after peak power by as much as 8 WHP

I cant wait to finish up a heatshield and do some baseline stock pulls and compair this intake back to back
