anyone know what brands make 70mm+ TB's for the S?? Any info as to which would be best size??

EMS soon coming, and I thought I'd grab the TB and port and match the manifold before it. I was thinking of a 75mm.
IIRC 70mm is the max you can go on a stock TB.

thankx, ya I can't really find anything bigger then a 70mm. Then again anything bigger probably isn't necessary.

Well guys...to be more realistic now, I think I'm more near the 220 mark then 225...went to the drag strip this weekend with some friends.

Traps just put me at about that...and my ET's were not what I was hoping for but then again I never really got a good launch. However, I'm not really upset with how it turned out. My best time was a 14.255 @ 98.221mph and 2.138 60'. Not really a great time but then I compare them to my previous times when all I had was a test pipe and the comptech flywheel (everything else stock)...then I ran a best of a 14.862 @ 94.73, although that was a 2.373 60', it was my only run that night in the 14's because the rest of my 60's were even worse...anyway with adding the EMS, JIC cat-back, AEM V1, and doing a little weight removal I dropped my ET .6sec and rasied the trap 4mph. And then Comparing my AVERAGE on the stock night compared to my AVERAGE this weekend its about .5sec improvement overall and 4mph so I'm happy with the change. It shows that the the mods were worth something and have had quite an effect. I know that I suck at drag racing, IMO the car should be capable of about 13.7, but ? Apparently not me...I'm more of a road race guy and the drag is just for kicks.

Also, compared to other cars that day I wasn't doing too bad...my friend in an STi had a personal best of 14.3xx at 96 with a 1.9 60' he isn't the best at shifting but still I beat him an 06 STi...another friend in a 95 mustang with a 351 ran a personal best of 13.9 when he was hoping for quite a bit lower.

Anyway, thought I'd share that with you guys, hopefully I'll go again once I get 4.57's and see what the differences are then. Also doing a hp estimater, 98.221mph with a 2830lb car (2670+me+an extra 5gal) = about 220 when corrected for atmosphere/altitude. The track conditions were Temp 75F, Dewpoint 16F, 30.16, 1250 Elev. and the previous time I draged when stock conditions were similar

get that thing dynoed Silver!!!!! What's the time with the conversion f you know it? Looks like 13.8 at sea level then. which isn't bad, but there's room for improvement. Like you said though your not a dragger, but still nice time .
Huge improvement if your previous times really were 14.8's.

Dyno day is coming up for me, and afterwards I'll be heading down to the nearest track just to get an idea of where it stands in the straight line. Although the track i'll be going to has worse conditions then yours, aswell as being 2700ft above sea level. we'll see.

Well, here is the scan of it...very linear hp...the spikes you see in the Torque curve have to do with the natural resonance frequency of the intake...basically where/when the sound waves line up are best for the airflow.

I had it dyno tuned by Church...problem is I don't really know how much power I am making. Churhes dyno reads pretty high...its a hub dyno so once you put the wheels back on, you loose power through them. Average dynojet numbers are the ones most people accept as an acurate demonstration of wheel horsepower...so even though I dyno'd 235, I'm not making 235 at the wheels. I'm one of the few people that has a proved dyno sheet saying that I make 235whp and I will tell you that I don't. I'm not here to brag about big numbers, I'm here to find truth and tell truth...to build this motor into what I know it can be.

Based on what I thought my numbers would be on a dynojet ~225, and Church saying it was probably 218-223 on a dynojet, and now the trap speeds showing about 220 I can safely estimate my dynojet rwhp to be 220.

Silver,

Do you have access to Dyno Dynamic RR's in the US?

Still 220 is very impressive considering your power mods, and considering you do not have a header yet so there are more gains to see in the future. Your a mid to high 13 second car at sea level so I think you've already accomplished a lot. Your mods aren't high named brands like others, and you don't have a huge list either.

Ya...I really don't have much, and the exhaust that I have isn't really the best either...so I'm not doing too bad. However, my next power mods won't come for a while as my next things are a hardtop (and remove softtop+motors -20lbs) and 4.57's which wont actually change my power output...just make it a lot more fun.

And Version...your super secret numbers will easily be met if all they are, are x's...just lean it out to 16.0:1 at WOT, do a dyno run...and BAM x's are all you'll have left...hehe...and I call dibs on the head...I guess

In being serious, if you sold the VAFC...would you still plan on getting something else to tune with or would you be done?
