I'm also on the "get to 230 rwhp and add gears" kick right now. Like silver, I'm also shedding weight. I'd like to get to -200 pounds, as I'm at -95 right now about. I'm even thinking of making a custom "weight watchers" signature icon

I've already ordered the hondata gasket, how much has it helped you guys during driving? I live in Atlanta, so you know it gets hot here. How effective are the Mugen cooling mods and are they worth buying?

Kays, what are you asking for the 4.77s. I've always wondered what it'd be like with them. Everyone always cites top end mph loss, but who really goes faster than 100 anyway? I wouldn't care if my top speed was 120... I'm never going to go that fast so what do I care? The only worry is the 70-80 mph cruising speed. Cruising at 5000 rpm's is a bit much.

Also, does the spoon 70mm TB do anything the Proflow 70mm doesn't? The PF one is only 150 bucks after core refund.

And to version, if you're trying to make peak power, don't go with the Rick's header. That is going to lose peak power. I'd like to get a J's/Amuse but they're SO expensive. I keep looking for a used one... maybe we can get a GB

TB is a waste of money without the other bolt-ons and even then. its overated. You can take your TB to the local machine shop and get it bored. Also, as stated before, I would do the cooling mods the same time you install the gasket....makes life easier.

LOL , thanks junior, anytime you wanna compare knowledge, i have more in my fingernails than youll ever. i hate punks like this guy.

JDM, you cant expect max power from an intake, till you either reset your ecu and give it 3 hard drive cycles, or at least run it for a few hours hard. dont bolt it on, and dyno back to back, youll see no gain. just as you said. car hasnt optimized timing and fuel to its newly gained air.

honestly, just get the 4.57s. then your car will feel a bit better. best middle of the road. i would personally get the reduction gear and put it in the trans, and leave your FD alone. but not many have access to do that kind of heavy job. late dave

I dont think anyone will ever get that. Its like beating that horse thats been dead for the last 6 years...

Take AJ-R's car for example.

J's Header, J's Exhaust, J's ECU, J's Intake = 20 WHP = $4,518 USD
Sorry I made a mistake my car was making 31whp at peak and 30whp at mid-range (Now 225whp stock 194whp). I know the parts that I have are not cheap but they are doing a good job to push the maximum potential off my engine.

Exacltly, I never said there was anything wrong with your car. I love it, just stating is going to be lots of money to get more power out of this motor. Its not a B-Series

This is a good topic. We just had a dyno day in the Bay Area last saturday, due to some issues the dyno was coming in at about 5-7% lower than it should have been so all our numbers are kind of low. But the shop owner is a great guy and is re-dyno'ing 30+ cars for free so I will be back there on friday morning. Since then I have added a VAFC which seems to be helping allot. I also have the mods that are in my sig (the mugen cooling mods are sitting in my car and haven't been installed yet though) so I'm pretty excited to see what kind of numbers I'm putting down. If you guys would like I will let you know the moment I get back from the dyno. You guys can pm about the results as I will likely forget to post them in this forum.

On a side note, max power and torque are great. But you guys need to be looking on whats going on before and after the max power is made. For those who have dyno'd before you guys know how bad the horsepower drop is after peek at 8k rpm. I mean it drops by about 20 hp. And the mid range is very important also. Thats why (especially for the 00' and 01' models) a VAFC can help so much because we run too rich in some parts of the power band. I'm hoping to increase my peak power with vafc by maybe 10-15 hose power. But I have seen it on this web site and in person that people will make 10 hp more with a vafc but at certain points in the rpm band like form 4-6k rpm and from 8.1-9k rpm that they can pick up almost 20-25 horsepower. Thats what will really shine when racing the car... Just a thought

I guess my engine is stronger out from the factory. Most of my customers and friends didn't make the same gains. Anyhow, I have dynoed, Spoon AP1, s2kboy03 and DC_AP1's car and the gains are pretty close. They gain about 20whp at peak and about 30whp at mid-range.

This plot is STOCK with Spoon filter vs J's I/H/E & ECU.
