I prefer square setups if possible so I can move tires front the back.

@Marc - Really? The 285/18 is a touch wider than the 295? That's crazy, why would they do that?

I guess I'll be looking around for an 18x10 or 18x19.5 then.

I'd run at least a 10.5 with 285's IMO.

Back in the day, Tipple ran a 285-18 on 18x9 in BSP.
I like the 18x11s.

I will tell you that I broke two OEM diffs launching with 315 rears. The pinion gear isn't up to the punishment.

I think Uyeda broke his diff recently, too.

If I get some time, I can take pictures of my front fenders and 315s on 18x11 square.

OEM R&P's should be considered a wear item, if you run a couple Pros a year, expect to replace them almost yearly. I've broken them on 285s, 295s and 315s. Back in the day stock class guys were breaking them all the time on 245s. I'm assuming there's less stock breakage now because of the AP2 case improvements and the delay valve.

They're easy to replace and pretty cheap (carriers can be had for 500-750 from junk yards). I always carry a spare that's ready to drop in. I don't bother trying to replace broken pinions as shimming them is a pain and new parts from Honda don't save you much of anything over junkyard units that are complete.

CVs are the next weak link so carrying spare axles is also recommended.

Based on what Jason was saying it seems like getting 18x11 to fit is not worth the effort over 18x10.5 especially if you don't go with 315s. At least that's my interpretation of what he said.

Yeah I kind of assumed I have to start bringing a spare diff and axles especially to pros. How are your wheel bearings? Are you going through a set of those a year too?

Just to be clear. Based on my offsets, alignment, ride heights, and various other setup stuff, I don't think I was gaining much over what I was losing with the 11's vs 10.5s. YMMV

I'm not sure if I'll be running 11s or 10.5s next year, depends on how silly I want the front of my car to look, or not.
