OEM 00-01... roughly the same as a CR front bar.

The car is VERY neutral in steady state corners, and is pretty quick coming out of corners, also very balanced.

I have a little trouble putting power down out of real tight corners but I honestly think its the cold, since I had the same issue and feel with last years setup in similar weather.

If dialing back the rear rebound doesnt fix it I will look into a bigger bar but I worry about getting mid corner understeer with a stiffer bar since I am in love with the way my car behaves mid corner
I wouldn't change a thing till it warms up.

What about drive shaft spacers? Everywhere I turn people are saying my drive shafts are going to wear excessively... are those STR legal?

Is anyone else getting a rattling sound from the rear axles after lowering? It can be heard when driving slowly (5-10 MPH) and going over small bumps. I don't have the vibration issue (inner CV cup wear spots) which is more typical of lowering a car with more miles on it. At first I thought the sound was something with the shock top hats since it showed up after installing the shocks/springs and lowering.

It was driving me nuts, but I recently found that I could grab the axles and shake them which sounds similar to going over bumps at low speed.

I can shake the axles on my friends stock 08, but they are not as loose/loud sounding as mine.

Rob - are the stub axles moving inside the diff or is the movement inside the CV boots?

Shocks? Upper arm joint?

It feels like there is play within the CV joints. I don't think this is abnormal for a CV joint, but the rattle sound sure is.

I checked out the shocks and could not find anything loose about them. I even rode in the trunk and listened for a while with a stethoscope. The sound corresponds with bumps and gets transmitted into the body. Braking or load (throttle input) or both does not make any difference. The sound comes from both sides and is about the same when bumps are encountered.

Are you referring to the ball joint at the end of the upper A-arm/upper knukle? I used a dead blow hammer to check for loose parts. The axles are the only thing that exhibited anything at all. Since this sound came with installation of the shocks/springs/lowering I don't think it's likely the ball joint.

I've done a bunch of searches and came up with the vibration issue which is resolved by swapping CV cups side to side or putting in the spacers. The other item that came up is the loose rear axle nut. My axle nuts are still intact and tight. That's really a different sound. I had that on my last S2K.

I should probably take this discussion to the "Under the Hood" topic area.

I keep forgetting who's done what and how they've mounted there shocks.
Could it be the upper spring perch hitting the OEM top hat when the bushing compresses?

BTW, I was running 3 bars of fuel at the Texas Tour with no starve. The course had hugely long sweepers. After I got done running, I drove 4 miles and then put 11.9 gallons in the tank. Pretty wild hunh?
