looks like the s2000's had a good showing!
The showing will be the opposite for San Diego based on current (3/14) registration. Three S2000 drivers out of 13 total for STR.
Nice to see an AP1 up there in the standings.

So, right out of the gate, STR is faster than ST.

Good to know about the run groups and in most cases, that's true.
Tim (prior ST champ) ran 2nd 1/2 of the ST rungroup, and was fastest on his 3rd runs each day. Much of the "debris" would have been wiped off the course when he ran his 3rd runs. In the least... a rather clear line developing.
Now, add onto that, it's Tommy and the S2000. Comparible talent in the driving capabilities.
Sure, temps are one thing, but I would expect that to be under one second difference between them just for temps.
1.5 seconds is a decent margin to say that STR is going to be faster than ST most of the year. Other results are starting to come in from other regions with similar talent, and the data is showing the same.

ST ran first heat; STR ran last heat I wouldn't compare the results. The SGMP site is very sandy (ala heartland) and temps in the morning were really cold (although fifth heat on saturday it started to get dark and sunday fifth heat was chilly as well...). Everyone in first heat had a ton of sandy on the course that atleast was cleaned off by the fifth heat. I wouldn't infer anything from this event for ST versus STR times.
So, I finally got the car balanced. I was pleased with the grip coming from both ends. It takes a little while to transition and that's really my only complaint as of now. I am considering adding bars to the equation.
Tommy drove like a champ. This was a high speed course with tons of transitions. Keeping it clean was important and I'm sure there were a lot of people driving home yesterday wishing they hadn't hit as many cones. I'll take 3rd with no clean runs on day one but still, I'd love another crack at it.
A spin out on my first two runs was pretty telling of where I'm at with the controls right now.
The tires were awesome. I didn't notice a change in the grip the entire event. The first run felt exactly like the last run of each heat. That was interesting.
Congrats to O'gorman for going so fast on day 2. Looks like we all have a lot of growing pains still (except for the Pulliam, dang it)
Glagola,
I will be watching you as the weather warms up. Im really curious to see how those toyos do in the heat with a heavier car like ours. If they do well they very well may be my next set.
I am also intrigued by how well the hankooks did
