I overtightened them because I had no idea what I was doing and they stripped when I tried to loosen them. Well lesson learned.

on another note, I got my rear bar off and my alignment done. We'll see how it goes.

Had my first Auto-x of the season today. Borrowed some wheels w/ Ecsta XS's from Guy Ankeny as mine didnt show up yet. car worked so so with out of the box KW v3's with stock 06 bars. I definately need more springs and bar for sure.

On a side note, I got to drive Guys' car and it felt really good. Only one run in his car, i was 2 tenths faster in his over mine (5 runs worth). Guy was running high 41's with the CP cars (mike maier, frank stagnero) were in the mid 40's. His car felt great, and super fast.

Ran a very fast open autocross course on Saturday with the local BMWCCA club. We figured out that the push from our last outing was from us forgetting to reconnect the rear bar.

Since then the owner has corner balanced the car and gotten the car aligned. We went to almost the same camber front and rear. 2.1 F/2.2 R.

The car felt great, rotated nicely without being out of control. I think we may dial in a little more rear camber, but the tail happiness may partially be from the gravel on course.

So, got the alignment and such, car handled much more neutral, could still rotate on or off throttle on demand, but nowhere near as twitchy. Very fast in wet but drying conditions... came within 1 pax second of Corey Ridgick (running a BSP Evo) Ive never been anywhere near that close to him before.

setup:

Koni SA with custom valving
700/600 springs
OEM Front bar (01/CR)
no rear bar

Alignment

Front
Camber: -2.0
Caster: 5.5
Toe: 0

Rear
Camber: -2.5
Toe: .2 degrees in per side (roughly 1/8in IIRC)

I would kill to be able to run a course like that... you get near road course speed but nothing to hit but cones... Very jealous

We used to have auto-x's like that back when Castle Air Force Base was being used... The Winton ramp was pretty big, it wasn't uncommon to have a 3rd gear course that was 70+ seconds. Once a year on the 4th of July weekend we would have a 4th gear course, VERY FUN...

That's the airpark at Mineral Wells. Same place the TX National Tour was this year. Yes the site is massive. It's even more fun when the Porsche Club does the Texas Time Trials out there
