^^^ Nice! I was planning on and will be doing the exact same thing for mine.

I laughed! Same thing in my engine bay except Penske canisters. I only lined the underside of the K&N 'box' so it's not as visible though.

What are other STR S2000s weighing in at? I just weighed mine and it came in at 2677 lbs with 1/4 tank of gas... 2817 lbs with me in it.

The only weight reduction I've done is a 14.5 lb Odyssey battery and the typical B-stock exhaust modification. That's with stock sways, as well.

My car was 2799 without me in it. This was full tank of gas and the stock wheels were on. Heavy SOB!

Im around the same at 275x with the stock exhasut and about 4 gallons of fuel. I recently hacked up the stocker so I should be closer to 2710 with 1/4 tank

I have also had none of the heat soak some people seem to mention with the intake and that is even with back to back autocross runs with downtime where the car is just sitting for 2 minutes until the next run.

Gotta love it! I found some reflective heat tape that I'm going to use on mine... it's gold and sparkly so it gives it that "exclusive JDM" look.

My car weighs in at about 2650 with about 3/4 tank of gas. 2005 AP2.
*EDIT* Speaking of which... there really isn't much more I can do. I can replace my passenger seat, my stock air box, and get a high flow cat with a titanium exhaust... but other than that... I think I've done all one can possibly do as far as weight reduction goes. That's with the lightest wheels available (Buddy Club QF's)and one of the lightest coil-overs available (Tein SRC's).

I feel like I'm forgetting something though.... just can't put a finger on it.

I've done a Brail Battery 11.4lbs
Exhaust Cut-Off Mod
Removed Spare and Tools
Sparco Sprint and Sparco Bracket... (Probably weighs more than stock...)
Buddy Club QF's @ 14.4 lbs a piece
Tein SRC's (aluminum body... significant weight savings)

... heck... There has to be something else. I wish I'd weighed the stuff as I exchanged it / took it off.

You could do headers right? I imagine there is several lighter than the OEM one.
Also, swaybar setup. I can't remember if you have no rear bar or not. I put the standard hollow Gendron front bar on which is so much lighter than that solid bar!

time 2!

I'm at 2605lbs with 3/4+ tank of gas. Another light wieght seat would get me under 2600

about 2755 with me in it. Although that was without a rear bar so it might be like 2612 or somthing now.
