I think falling prices are a result of two things. First, nobody has any money to spend so the used car market is in the tank. Secondly, cars in general have been making ginat leaps in terms of horsepower in the last few years so people have this perception that S2000 perfomance is akin to say a Miata and are more willing to look at used Z's, Evo's and WRX's instead.

I think we should all pull together on S2ki and S2KCA and raise the values of our cars by a few grand. Everyone add 2-3K to your asking prices. We'll make national news.

I sold my '04 with 35k miles in excellent condition for $15k a couple months ago. I think that's a very fair price; you just have to be a little bit patient to find the buyer who is willing to pay for the "right" car.
With your car that's a year older, but fewer miles, at $12,500 I think you'll get tons of offers from high-school and college kids if you want to sell it quickly, but I think you could get closer to $15k.

That's not going to raise the value, it will just create a supply/demand imbalance.
I am just thinking about values on other cars with smaller runs. The ones that appreciate over time, or go back up in value usually dip and level, then come back up when "clean" examples can't be had, or the numbers start dwindling. Cars that sit on dealer lots forever really don't pull much of a premium even lightly used for years, and finally start an upward climb. Some examples that come to mind - S54 Z3M, especially the coupe, FD RX7 and BMW Z8. The MKIV Supra is another example, although slightly difference as demand was fueled by a movie (values went up a solid 10K across the board in late 2001/2002). Of course, all three cars are much rarer than the S - but at least CR owners have hope. Sure its hard to move that CR with no A/C Radio now, and yes it'll probably dip to the high teens, but I definitely think it'll go back up in value as well.
The way for values to go up would be if many owners would just take them off the market, creating a smaller supply of used ones for sale and shrinking the market.
I don't want to teach supply/demand economics, but if all sellers just raised their prices, they would sit on the market that much longer. Soon, the unity would be broken and sellers would start reducing their prices to move their cars, and prices would drift towards equilibrium.

It's really worth what someone will pay for. Sounds obvious but lots of people look up what it should be worth and think they'll get that. Many cars on here will sit there for months and months since the price it supposedly is worth no buyers want to pay.
I would think around the 13K would be the most you can get for it really.
AP2's are going for 15K now a days.
It is the newest AP1 so those looking for a real nice AP1 would be interested I would think.

did a quick search on kbb, for zip 91206, glendale, ca the values were as follows
based on a vehicle with 24k , miles
PV ex: 14,040 retail value: 16,500
good: 13,240
fair : 12,190
east coast search for same car same mileage yielded this values, for zip 11106 NYC, NY
PV ex: 13,165 retail value: 15,505
good:12,415
fair: 11,390
Nada yielded a higher Retail value, $17,425
just to give u an idea. Personally if i were looking for a garage queen and urs was in as good a shape as you mention i wouldn't mind spending $14k for it.

A near ten year production run and abundant supply of lower priced older models are what killed the resale value of this car. when i was selling my '05 last year, i learned that buyers didn't want to spend ~$20K on a good, clean example with low mileage, when there were plenty of choices under $15K.
