S2000 owners should keep their prices firm and not go lower then a certain price. Just like NSX owners, they just don't seem to be getting cheaper. There are obviously buyers for the S2000, always will be, and people will just have to pay the price.

We keep dropping price because certain publishings say what our cars are worth...and they are always super low. So when one guy on S2Ki posts a low sellib price everyone follows.
I agree with this but with the number of S2000's on Autotrader with these lower prices being "firm" on a high price will be a hard sell unless you have a mint car and wait long and hard for a enthusiast to find it.

Oddly, my car has gone up $1900 on KBB in the year I've owned it and that is with the extra miles I've put on it.

When it comes to depreciation, low miles don't really count for much. Its nice to brag abut but its still an eight-year old car and doesn't effect the book value much, although you may be able to get a premium from a buyer for it.

The reality is it's an 8 yr old car, and cars depreciate. No one should really be surprised by this. OP, you probably could get more than $12k for it, but not a whole lot more like someone else said. Blue book has been a little low, and I noticed that when I bought my s2k in late winter. Either way, just enjoy the car. Cars depreciate and you may not get a very large premium for a pristine car w/ low miles compared to an average car w/ average miles. One other thing, suzuka generally carries a lower price tag than other colors from what I've noticed. When I was looking for an s2k, I could easily find suzukas, and they were roughly 1500-2000 cheaper than other colors.

Unless you need to sell it, don't worry about how much money it's worth, just worry about what it's worth to you and get out and drive that thing and enjoy it.

I know, very odd right. I figure that KBB is getting the prices from the DMV. Pricing must be coming back up, I bought this at the lowest point, pre-cash for clunkers. July 09.

I don't think I could sell it for what they say I could though.

FYi I was told by finance at a dealership that KBB values change regularly and may fluctuate considerably.

I am starting to look for another Ap1 with low miles. Blue wouldn't be my first choice but let me know if you get serious about selling.

Average prices are still relatively high in my neck of the woods. The wonky US dollar is making your stuff all go crazy!

My 2002 with just over 60k miles on the odometer and roughly 40k miles on the engine after it was replaced by Honda early in its life for an oil leak, would be worth nearly $18-19k (Canadian Dollars). I never thought I'd say it but maybe next year 'll (***cringe***) consider selling it to pay off the remainder of a loan I have and get a little breathing room on my monthly bills.

These are the local prices in Canadian dollars around here http://www.autotrader.ca/k/new-used/HONDA+...prv=true&srt=15
