either way i am really hoping that a test pipe and vfac gets me 10rwhp. i am just unsure of my vfac tuning ablities....i agree with you, if i can even out that afr line, power will be made.
i highly doubt youll hit 220 with just test pipe and tune
i have an arc intake, test pipe, j's 60RS UNTUNED and i dont think ill even make close to 220...I dont think its really that easy to make power on this motor without a header and full exhaust system tuned
Mike - Your ARC intake is giving you 0 hp, and the 60mm exhaust provides less gains than a 70mm. I know you wont be anywhere near 220whp, but with a powergaining CAI, header, test pipe, VAFC (or another ECU), and 70mm exhaust it is definitely possible.
i decided on berk tech TP...wyatt i will be buying your vfac(give a brother a good deal) and i will pull again in march i think. i am pretty sure 220rwhp will happen. i just need to find a way to educate myself on AFR tuning or find a good local shop to do it! i want to do it myself.
can i do AFR adjustments just sitting in the car,or does the car need to be moving(under load) to get the best results. i am trying to stay away from dyno tuning...to much $...
u will need to dyno tune VAFC, might as well since u r going there to baseline anyway. a reputable tuner will want to anyways to get good safe power, and the few extra bucks for the extra pulls will be well worth it. u should be able to get up to 215whp 2.0 and maybe 220+whp on 2.2
I can pretty much guarentee you can see 220+whp.
You have the filter and exhaust and already at 213 which is great. If you get the AUT style CAI cooling plate, Spoon header, and VAFC, you'll be at 220 for sure. And a LOT more in the midrange I bet.
I'll meet up with you as soon as I go home and I'll give you a good deal on the VAFC. Tuning a VAFC is nothing like an EMS, so even if you do dynotune it, it's just a few pulls on the dyno and they make some adjustments. It's about the same to dyno tune a VAFC as it is to dyno! Plus you can see what power you're making with it, rather than just putting in AFR on the street and hoping. See ya in a a few weeks!
And if you get a lightweight flywheel, Spugen/Ztec heatshield, Hondata Intake Manifold heat gasket, and IK24 sparks, you'll be running like suggggggarrrrrrrr (all of those just listed are cheap mods minus the flywheel)!
