the Official "NA Tuning" thread
Online pricing is very different than what you can actually get stuff for. If you shop around, and actually call, some places prices are much, much cheaper than online. TWM's are a pain, 2nrwerks has Roger's car (VOLKGT-N) right now, and they can't get the damn thing to idle under 1800 rpms...even with all the linkages taken off. TWM's don't allow for very much fine tuning...and they look kinda cheap IMO.
I'm sure the $2800 for Toda's is just the manifold and rail. Inectors add another $300...adjustable fuel pressure regulator add $170, Steel braided fuel hose and fittings, you're looking at another $150...Ish adds up quick. All told, to operate the system I have right now, just in parts:
Jenvey ITB's w/ 440 cc/min injectors from ebay $1510
AEM EMS 1052U from www.automotivespeed.com $1625
Aeromotive FPR $170
Fuel line fittings $80
Misc. hoses, nuts, bolts, etc. $100
Fuel pressure gauge $25
I won't tell you how much 2nrwerks charged for install and tuning though, as that'd be unprofessional of me. Lets just say they were reasonable, but not cheap.
As you can see, even if you luck out like I did and score one on ebay cheap, you'll still cough up over 3 grand in parts even before you pay for install and tuning. Is it worth it? Line up to me and find out
