Edit ... as for a computer fix, maybe its time for everyone to send letters to the most likely ECU tuners. With enough demand, someone will figure it out.

Anyway, here is the letter I submitted (maybe a tweak to lessen the embarrassment of being a dumb@$$).

The 2000-2005 Honda S2000 (and likely others) are put at a disadvantage against the newer 2006+ Honda S2000 from a power tunability side.
Here is an example of what an 2006+ S2000 with a header can do with the Hondata reflash:

With my 2001, without that ability to tune... just with a VAFCII, I get a fraction of that kind of gain.... and at a very important part of the power curve... The AP1's (2000-2003) are at a disadvantage at a stock level. (Below is a quick shot from that I got from the STR thread on S2KI.com that shows this.) I believe my actual gain with a tune and header just puts me at or near the stock AP2 TQ levels, and the flash tune further takes advantage of this.

I would like to allow the older cars to be able to counter that advantage. I am not an expert on this subject as to how to best alter the rules for this, but I thought I would submit my 2nd letter to see if this can be addressed.
Thanks,

^^^ I so agree! Usually about 3 hours into the drive of a big event, I start to ask why I go through all the trouble for just a few minutes of driving.

Put this together while talking to my codriver about our switch from an SS Elise this year to a BS AP1 next year:

I just submitted a letter to the SEB. Man, I thought I caught all my bad verbiage but... there was so much that I could not catch them all. LOL

I even have a 2007 but I want to see everyone get the same benefits

I think it cuts back in at 7600, so it won't hold or maintain 58 if that matters.
I usually saw 57 but I wouldn't be pinned when I hit the limiter.

With Flashpro setting my limiter to 8500 RPM, I'm seeing 60 MPH at the upper end in datalogs. On a 255 tire it should be almost 61 MPH. I'm not willing to try 8800...
With Flashpro also setting the "off" limiter RPM closer to the "on" limit, it should maintain the max speed much better than the stock limiter.EDIT: Bad memory, got my 2nd gear top speed with modified rev limit wrong.
