Yeah, the brake fluid is mainly for Texas Time Trials events where the braking a bit harder and speeds are a touch higher.

diff= LE1605

Trans= For winter I run OEM but for auto-x and track I run synthetic 75w-90. I find the OEM is to thin and when the trans heats up it becomes notchy. Not so much at the auto-x, but a MW and track events it can become an issue. I have tried GM and didnt really notice much difference from OEM, but I would have to change it alot. My trans would become very notchy, as if the fluid would break down when it got really hot.

Do you think the 75W 90 is to stiff in the trans for light winter use? I mean I live in Texas so it's not like there is much of that white stuff around.

I live in Texas to. Im at most of the auto-x's with you.

Ive been running the 75w-90. I just returned to OEM on Saturday. Its not going to hurt anything, its just really notchy and you have to come to a complete stop to get it back into first. But once you drive 5 miles, it warms up and its just like OEM.

I change my trans fluid after every track day and every 2-3 auto-x's. But I also DD mine about 2k miles/month. But since I was gunna change it, its nicer to drive with the OEM when its cold. And we have almost 3 months still before MSR will have a HPDE, so I will change back to the 75w-90 before then.

Haha I will really need to match names to faces for all the local S2000s as opposed to just a few. NTAXS should have their winter season events in Jan sometime, and I know for Time Trials our first event of 2011 is Jan 22nd.

But it is cold enough now that OEM is fine. Auto-x and TTT arnt that harsh, and the fluid will stay cool with these temps. I only started having issues when its above 80 and running 20 min sessions at MSR. But the last event we had at MW Dave, Greg and Zo were all having trouble with 2-3 shifts being notchy and rough.

AST 5100/5200 price range shocks
Just note there is a sizable price difference from 5100 to 5200.

I like the setup Idea I am following the exact same model.

Yeah, I am aware. I simply meant that as a guideline to what will be put on the car. I still need to make a few phone calls and figure out the numbers a little bit more on all the options.

It is nice having AST so local though. I had a set of 4100s on the GTI and without them I doubt I would have been able to keep up with so many faster cars like I did this year.

Yeah. Its nice havin Minerial Wells to run on. Getting to top-out 3rd (in an AP1 to) and still get on it in 4th at an auto-x is fun.
