Yeah. Its nice havin Minerial Wells to run on. Getting to top-out 3rd (in an AP1 to) and still get on it in 4th at an auto-x is fun.
4th during autocross. That would be 90+ mph. I can only dream to do them speeds during a autocross. How would you even see cones going that fast. Thats more like a road course then anything.

Here are a few old in car videos from the GTI out at Mineral Wells. It was a fun car and got me hooked on this stuff, but I am really glad to be in a car I can finally really compete in.

The first two are two Texas Time Trial hot laps that are on the top 10 list of times for each course.

The first is our T1 course created ourselves

The second is the Maverick Region PCA course number 3

Here is just a long autocross from the site.
results for any comparison are here: results

The STR aero rules have been resolved for 2011:
January Fastrack

Change the third paragraph of 14.0 to read as follows:
Under the provisions of Section 1.1 of these rules, Regions are free to allow any other version of the ST concept which meets their local needs. In particular, some tolerance in the area of bodywork allowances (e.g. wings/spoilers beyond those allowed in 14.2.F) is encouraged at this level.

- Modify 14.2.C to read as follows (ref. 10-127):
“C. Factory rub strips, emblems, mud flaps, bolt on front valance lips/spoilers, and fog lights (except those integral to a headlight or turn signal) may be removed. Rear wings may be removed so long as the vehicle retains any federally-mandated third brake light.”

- Replace 14.2.F with the following:
14.2.F Addition of spoilers, splitters, rear wings, bumper covers, valances, side skirts, and nonfunctional scoops/vents is allowed provided that either:

1) it is a production part which is standard or optional equipment of a US model of the vehicle

2) it is listed in the vehicle manufacturer’s US accessory catalog for that vehicle, for normal highway use

Parts must be installed as directed by the manufacturer. Exact replicas (including weight) from alternate sources are also permitted.

Holy crap. The rule is exactly how I would have written it. I should take a picture of that or something, cause that's never going to happen again.

Yep...I guess I'm gonna have to say goodbye to my wing. I really don't like the AP1 stock rear so I'll prob put an OEM rear spoiler at the very least just for looks. Unfortunately, I'll still have to figure out what to do with the other two holes left behind by the wing.

Really bummed about this as my wing has less sq. footage as the CR one. Seems silly to restrict my wing when it is less useful than it. Oh well.. price ya pay to play. At the local events, I'll have to make sure the S2000 trackers know that we won't care about their wings.

Hmm... I'm going to try to just leave the mounts on my trunk lid and just remove the wing for the Tours and Nats. Based on if people get pissy about that, I might have to resort to buying a new trunk lid. However, I really don't believe they will care, or I will just have to throw a weenie at them. LOL

^^^ LOL

Bye bye spoiler... fun while it lasted... anyone know someone in XP or CSP that needs a spoiler (cheap!). I've already been running without it for the last few months. Sway bar and spring adjustments appear to be working reasonably well.

Yeah, six small screw heads with o-rings for sealing on my trunk will remain for a while until I find a silver replacement.

You know what...that's not a bad idea. I may do the same. I don't think anyone local really cares about my wing and I can just remove the wing element for the tour/divisionals.

When I was playing in stock class, a fellow S2000 owner had a luggage rack to throw his wheels and tires on for traveling to events (loved how he treated that car as a tool and not some fragile car). Nobody even flinched (or a group of us would have banned together and laughed at them out of there for being such a weenie). Of course, he knocked me down to 3rd place trophy at a NT... darn it!

So, I feel pretty safe going this approach, or I might have to take my ball and play somewhere else. Who likes to play with weenies? no wait!

Just bring a bag of weenies and have it handy if people start looking at your car critically or start to say it's illegal. Don't say anything, just hold up the wieners and give them a pointed look.
