Bye bye spoiler... fun while it lasted... anyone know someone in XP or CSP that needs a spoiler (cheap!). I've already been running without it for the last few months. Sway bar and spring adjustments appear to be working reasonably well.
dimensions of the spoiler and price?

so what are the thoughts on a CR wing on an AP1. Any real advantage? I read that as a legal mod.

I don't think any of the current out of box wings including the GTC-200 provide any advantage in autox which is why I think this rule is total BS. The only reason I got a wing for the car was for track days and I thought it was great that in STR I could actually leave the wing on the car and not have to do stupid things like have a spare trunk lid to swap back and forth with...but the powers that be think otherwise so I guess I'll just have to conform if I want to run it at a tour or divisional. It'll also be intresting to see how the individual regions decide to deal with this.

With the APR, it's a 2min operation to pull the bolts on the adjustment points, and remove the wing from the uprights. I did that on my FP car for a while, before I built a spoiler.

I don't think that it's legal to add the CR wing to an AP1, due to the language about model option accessories only.

I agree and would add that the real restriction is in the words "Parts must be installed as directed by the manufacturer." It's clear to me that you would need to drill holes in an AP1 trunk lid to put the CR wing on. I'm sure that is not described in any Honda literature. If you think you can install the CR trunk lid then you are getting into a back date/update (BD/UD) scenario.

For reference...

FAST TRACK January 2010

14.2.F Addition of spoilers, splitters, rear wings, bumper covers, valances, side skirts, and nonfunctional scoops/vents is allowed provided that either:

1) it is a production part which is standard or optional equipment of a US model of the vehicle
2) it is listed in the vehicle manufacturer’s US accessory catalog for that vehicle, for normal highway use

Parts must be installed as directed by the manufacturer. Exact replicas (including weight) from alternate sources
are also permitted.

so in other words, it's legal for ap2 but not for ap1? Or does that get into the ud/bd where it would only be legal on a 2008 and newer?

For a CR wing... the way I read it is that if you have change the trunk lid you cannot do it. If you have to drill holes then there would need to be Honda literature describing the procedure (i.e. mark holes, drill holes, bolt on) for putting a CR wing on any other S2000.

Is a CR wing listed any where as an optional piece or accessory? I can't find it in my searches. It only shows up as part for the CR.

Depends on how it is shown in accessory catalog.

If you go to the Honda Estore (estore.honda.com) and click on 2006 S2000 - there are specific instructions on how to install a "wing spoiler" - part number 08F12-S2A-1J1.

It doesn't appear as if the CR wing is actually orderable through this website as an "accessory" though.
