I've seen where someone had sent in a letter to not allow any ECU changes, and IMO had a great argument for it. Heck, they took my not really functioning waaaang away from me, I can see them doing the same for the ECU. (I'm still bitter about that silliness )

Who could honestly argue against the ecu change? Some ASSHATE 06+ driver? There's no reason to not allow us to have the same tunning ability as them, that's the bottom line. Why allow one to do it and not the other?

I get the wing thing, it sucks but atleast they banned the wing all together. they either need to allow everyone in ST to be able to have some form of tuning wether that be a piggy-back or a flash device, or don't allow anyone to be able to tune at all! That's the only fair way to go about it. Ap2 guys would cry if we took away there ability to tune and raise the redline, why shouldn't we feel the same way?

Josh, keep in mind that this isn't a rule change that just effects STR. There are other ST classes that will be effected by this potential rule change. There very well might be a valid reason to block the ecu rule change because of what it will do to another class.

That being said, if the proposed ecu rule fails to pass, I won't be staying in STR...

I fully understand that it would change the tunning for the whole ST classing but I just feel that if one person in the class can tune thier car then it's only fair to allow the whole class to have the same ability. Hell you flash pro guys can even set-up launch control! Do you think it's fair that dbw cars can go out and data log launches and tune the ecu to launch the car at the optimal rpm every time? Even if it's a 10th advantage it's unfair and sould be allowed to everyone in the class.

My opinion, take it or leave it. I just feel if your gonna allow one then allow everyone and since I'm on the shitty end of the stick on this one I feel strongly about it.

Me too, I still have a spare trunk lid I sold my tuned emanage ultimate when STR started to buy a flash pro which was STR legal.
The emanage was a great upgrade good for ~30% more torque below 4500rpm, dual vtec engagement etc. Engaging it at 3500 and off at 4200 gave 5ft/lbs on my car with a stock cat.

The ECU rule will stay. It can't be easily regulated, so therefore it it open.

Josh, I wasn't very clear in my post... the other letter was to not allow any ECU mods/changes. Meaning preventing the 2006+ S2K's and other cars from flashing theirs or shoehorning a megasquirt(sp) in the stock case... IOW, all ECU's had to be stock.

Of course with me being an AP1 owner, I would like for either changes, the one in fast track or in the other letter to the SEB. All or none.

I wonder if the AP1 will see anything close to those results. I could use ~30% more TQ down low.

Ooo ok Dave, I must of misread your post. That's how I feel all or nothing. Take it all away or allow everyone to do it. The ap1 would favor the "nothing." while the "all" would even it out some, atleast in STR.

I think nothing would benefit S2000's the most since the MX-5 seems to be more under-tuned from the factory.

Im not an AP1 or AP2v1 owner and I agree it should be all or nothing. I sent my letter for support. I encourage all who agree to take a few minutes and go to the link below. Jon is right, unless your voices are hears, I will not happen.
