Josh,
Still no worries from me playing locally in STR... IMO, the more the merrier. With this being a place were STR folks are comparing setups and the results from it, I just wanted to make sure that people in this thread understand this. Especially with your weight being so good and you haven't done a lot of the common things to legally lighten it.
Man, it is getting close to autocross season in our neck of the woods... I can hardly wait.

...and nothing in the trunk. Even though now I have my omg light apr mirrors that (being sarcastic, they might be .5 each lighter but when I posted I ordered them someone was like "thats not str legal" even though it shouldn't matter were talking about a 1lbs of difference, everyone on here can out drive me and my mirrors are the wieght difference of me wearing belt or not...
This thread is a reference for many who will be campaigning cars on a national level. Providing a weight as a reference on a car that would never pass tech at a major event is not really beneficial. If Dave hadn't clarified for anyone who hasn't seen your FS ads of trunk linings, etc... it could be very confusing.
Debating over whether rules "matter" is a dead end argument that doesn't belong in this thread. Does it matter for you and your car? Probably not. Does it matter when applied across the nation for everyone in a class? Big time. Rules need to be bullet proof. If there are any loopholes, you better believe they will abused.

Either way - those superlight 2680lb AP1's will probably end up right back at 2650 or so because they'll be on heavier wheels/tires than Stock and they were all light on fuel. The early models with the plastic windows will save some weight too.
I do think 2600 is possible for my car - but it won't be a major goal of mine to try to get there.
[QUOTE=marks_lude,Feb 22 2010, 08:59 AM] Josh it is just important to understand that an illegal car (which yours is) is fine as long as your competition is aware of everything that doesn't mesh with the rules and is OK with it.

Does anyone have any actual weights from a CR? The only one I have seen, is from the white CR that was being sold on SCCAForums, it said 2680 with a full tank, in AS (now BS) trim.
Its an AC delete model that is prob 50lbs lighter than other CR's.

I do wish someone would make a faq though. 51 pages of mixed answers is alot of stuff

My 2000 AP1 weighed 2690 in AS trim with only an exhaust and a heavy Comptech FSB. I would expect that you could get it down to sub 2600 with some work. But I'm just guessing.
Hey, has anybody figured out how to tune this chassis yet? I'm chasing my tail.
